A photograph is enough to sell what a renovation leaves behind

Rebriq recognises the material, grades its condition and suggests a price in seconds, so publishing a listing takes two minutes instead of a trip to the déchetterie

The gap

A market that exists in principle and is empty in practice

The secondary materials market does not fail for lack of supply or demand, it fails because neither side can describe the object of the transaction in a way the other side will trust

Sent to landfill or downcycled
Reused after first service

Fewer than one building element in a hundred is reused once it has been removed, while the value of what is discarded runs to €1.5 – 2 billion every year

  • 227 Mt

Waste from the building sector each year

More than seventy per cent of all non-household solid waste in France, with residential construction alone accounting for some 46 million tonnes

  • €200 – 400

    What removal costs a household

Paying for a skip is simpler than finding a buyer, so oak parquet, cast iron radiators and old tiles leave the building as waste

  • 0 %

    Standardised description on general classifieds

No condition grading, no technical specification, no price benchmark, so a buyer looking at a photograph can confirm nothing and walks away

How it works

One platform standing between two sides of the same market

Choose the side you are on and follow the path end to end, from the first photograph to a material that arrives where it is needed

1

Photograph

Four to six shots from prescribed angles, with an on-device check that rejects a blurred frame and asks for a retake

2

Let the model read it

Type, composition, approximate period and condition come back in five to ten seconds, and you confirm what the model proposes

3

Take the suggested price

A range drawn from reference pricing, comparable items in your region and realised sales, shown together with its reasoning

4

Publish

Description, specification, geolocation and collection terms are already written, so the listing goes live in about two minutes

1

Search precisely

Filter by family, type, region and radius, condition class, production period and the RE2020 tag, rather than by keyword luck

2

Read the passport

Origin, dimensions, condition with the criteria that produced it and a photo series that includes the wear areas

3

Ask for verification

Premium items can be inspected by a certified artisan partner, so the condition assessment comes from an independent specialist

4

Pay and receive

Funds are held until you confirm receipt, with collection, partner delivery or aggregated delivery within your district

1

Upload in bulk

Whole lots from a site, a yard or a demolition project go up in one pass instead of one listing at a time

2

Connect your systems

An API links stock and project data to the platform, so listings follow what actually leaves the site

3

Collect the paperwork

Every transaction writes a traceable reuse record, in the form eco-organisations ask for under REP PMCB

4

Sell on better terms

Professional accounts carry a reduced commission, priority placement and analytics on what moves in each region

Inside the app

The two minutes, screen by screen

Every decision in the interface is subordinated to one target, because a sale that takes more effort than a skip hire simply does not happen

The digital passport

Everything a buyer refuses to take on faith, written down

Open any block to see what it holds and where it comes from, because the passport is the artefact that follows the material after the sale

Parquet chêne massif

Paris 11e · 18 m²
IdentificationSolid parquet, oak, mid twentieth century

Family, type, composition and approximate period returned by the identification module and confirmed by the seller before publication

ConditionGood, light sanding expected

The class is always shown alongside the criteria that produced it, so a buyer sees the reasoning rather than a bare label

Technical specification18 m², boards 70 × 12 mm

Dimensions, quantity, surface area and weight estimate, with the origin of the material: building type, region, installation period and reason for removal

Visual record6 photographs, wear area included

A series from prescribed angles, with defect shots required whenever the condition class is Good or Fair

VerificationAvailable on request

An independent assessment by a certified artisan partner, requested by the buyer on materials in the Premium category

RegulatoryRE2020 tag, REP reference data

Reused materials count as carbon-neutral under RE2020, and the reuse declaration data is captured as a by-product of a normal transaction

The model proposes, the seller decides

Where confidence between two adjacent condition classes is close, the module assigns the lower one and flags the item for optional verification

Every sale sharpens the next valuation

Realised transactions feed back into the pricing engine, which is how a price benchmark for secondary construction materials comes into existence at all

Proof that travels with the material

A contractor demonstrating réemploi needs traceable evidence of what was reused, in what quantity and where it went, and the passport produces exactly that

What the model reads

Thirty types and more, grouped into eight families

Trained on what a French renovation actually produces, because a general recogniser trained on everything performs worse on parquet than a model trained on French flooring

Flooring

Solid and engineered parquet, parquet blocks, floor tiles, tomettes, natural stone slabs

€15 – 40 per m²

Wall and ceiling

Wall tiles, carreaux de ciment, brick slips, wood panelling, decorative mouldings

€10 – 60 per m²

Joinery

Interior and entrance doors, windows, shutters, volets, staircases, frames

€40 – 400 per unit

Heating and plumbing

Cast iron and steel radiators, sanitary ware, taps, boilers, towel rails

€50 – 300 per unit

Structural timber

Beams, joists, rafters and reclaimed planks recovered from roofs and floors

€20 – 90 per linear m

Ironmongery and metalwork

Wrought iron grilles, railings, handles, hinges and locks

€15 – 250 per unit

Electrical and fittings

Light fittings, switch plates and distribution boards

€10 – 120 per unit

Finishing materials

Skirting, architraves, worktops, sinks and unused surplus insulation panels

€5 – 150 per unit

The taxonomy is French-specific and hierarchical: tomettes, carreaux de ciment and volets are categories a general model does not distinguish, and each family absorbs new types without retraining the whole model

Condition grading

Three classes, and the criteria behind each one

Site acceptance methodology from major construction projects, reduced to what can be verified from photographs

Excellent

Reusable immediately, with no preparation required

  • No structural defects
  • Surface wear under 10 % of the visible area
  • Complete fittings, no rot or corrosion through section
  • Eligible for Premium listing and the RE2020 tag where the type qualifies

Good

Reusable after minor preparation such as cleaning, sanding or repainting

  • Cosmetic wear on 10 – 40 % of the visible area
  • Minor chips or surface corrosion
  • Complete or near-complete fittings
  • The preparation required is stated explicitly on the listing

Fair

Reusable for specific purposes or after restoration

  • Wear above 40 % of the visible area
  • Visible repairs, missing non-structural components
  • Salvage or restoration value dominant
  • Published with a mandatory condition disclosure block
Regulation

French law already requires réemploi, the market instrument was missing

The legal framework has been built from the top down since 2020, and Rebriq is the everyday tool that makes it workable at the base

Loi AGEC

In force since 2020

Sets quotas for reuse and recycling across the construction market, which without a market instrument are close to impossible to meet

REP PMCB

In force since 2023

Extended producer responsibility for construction materials, with an eco-contribution on each product placed on the market and an exemption for verified réemploi

RE2020

Construction regulation

Recognises reused materials as carbon-neutral, contributing nothing to a building's carbon footprint, which creates direct demand from architects and developers

Reuse has to reach 4 % by 2027 and 5 % by 2028

From a level below one per cent today, under the operating rules of the eco-organisations, which means a five-fold rise in three to four years under direct legal obligation

For professionals

Surplus, demolition stock and reclamation yards, on professional terms

Contractors, démolisseurs and marchés de récupération work through an account built for volume rather than for one listing at a time

  • Bulk listing uploadWhole lots published in one pass, with listing management and basic analytics in a single panel
  • API and ERP integrationStock and project data connected directly, so what leaves the site appears on the platform
  • Reuse documentationTraceable records of what was reused, in what quantity and where it went, in the form eco-organisations require
  • Priority placement and reduced commissionProfessional accounts trade on better terms and their listings surface first in the regional feed
